Dang, sorry I didn't come by sooner.. I've been a bit absent from newgrounds as of late.

This is a really neat idea for a song, and while I know you said you were just playing around with the idea, it's still pretty good. The main things I'd change is to eq the sound at :50, and to make the drums a little less sharp. Also, as far as the kick being choppy, that may be something on your end, because I'm not hearing it.

I saw this review and took it into great consideration but I never responded it to it for some reason. Thank you for the feedback; I've felt a little on the fence about this song but I've ended up being more proud of it than disgusted. I'm glad to hear that the annoying kick might just be a client-end thing, because I reuploaded this file at least 4 times trying to fix it. I was never able to hear if the drums were too sharp or not when it got down to the real fine-tuning, I appreciate it. ;p

I can't tell if the static throughout the song is intentional or just a product of bad mastering, but it's giving me a headache. Some of your samples and/or synths are a bit weird, which isn't bad, but they don't sound like they're meshing together that well with the rest of them. The vocal samples at the end also sound completely out of place. On the plus side, you use your effects well, and all the volume levels sound like they're done decently

Honestly, when I first heard your music, I didn't like it. It sounded like all gritty bass that gave me a headache. Hearing this piece, it's not only different. I'm very impressed at how much the overall quality has improved, and I look forwards to seeing your next uniquely styled track.

I rather enjoy the fact that this sounds like an epic-style cinematic piece, but with guitars and a western vibe instead of the orchestral strings and/or pianos I usually find in cinematic pieces. Your instruments are well mixed, and while I feel the main guitar/s sounds could be slightly less sharp at times, this is a well-mastered piece that creates a nice atmosphere all on it's own.

Firstly, I haven't checked back to see if you've made any new music in a long time, since I checked at least twice a week for a few months to see if you'd made anything and didn't find anything. That said, this is likely your best song to date. Your sounds are smooth and mesh together well, and you have the kind of variation that makes it sound the same, but with variety throughout the song. My biggest criticism is the transition from 1:18-1:20, which sounds a little weird. This is an otherwise excellent piece, and I definitely look forwards to your next track.

Thank you! I was looking forward to your response; I understand that I've basically been on hiatus with music and really nothing that I do is scheduled anymore, honestly. I'm really glad to hear this, and I'll look at that transition and see what I can learn from it for whatever track I decide to make next.
Now, it may take eleventeen years for that next track to happen.. 8)

The instrumental selection for this works very well together. The percussion sounds nice in there as well. I really love the mastering for this one though. It really makes the piece come together. To be honest through the ending felt fairly bland, especially compared to the rest of the song.

Very good, but feels like the base is too loud at a few points where the melody almost can't be heard. The instrumental selection feels like a breath of fresh air compared to most of your other tracks.
