Song quality is great, and the intentions behind it are even better. :D

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Thanks, man. I'm glad you liked the composition, even if it was made in a rush :)

Kinda repetitive and short, but not bad at all. I kinda dislike the ending, how it trails off partly, and then completely disappears, but I've had problems with that kinda thing too, so I get it if it was unintentional. I do like that the chiptune sounds are smooth and rigid at the same time though. Keep that up. :)

PtdGore responds:

Thank you man!

I liked it better before the loud dubstep drums came in, it felt nice, soft, and smooth. The melodies are pleasing throughout the piece, like normal with your songs. The sounds are pretty smooth, which is also pretty normal. I do feel as though your dubstep sounds would be better off softer, with a different beat, but this is still pretty nice.

Geoplex responds:

Thanks! I'm working on something softer at the moment, actually. Not dubstep, but definitely pretty chill :P

The melodies' sounds feel like they could be slightly louder and sharper. The percussion also could be a bit sharper, for parts of it. Feels pretty good, though. :)

This is well-balanced, well-mastered, and filled with emotion. Excellent job. :)

Devastus responds:

Thank you very much!

The percussion is too loud, and the dubstep sounds too loud for me to consider it "soft". The violin is pretty well-done, and the melodies are ear-pleasing. Also, you misspelled "mystic" in the description.

TenodiBoris responds:

Thx for the feedback, and that you pointed on the misspell error,I have changed it immediately :)

Base is WAY too loud, can't hear enough pleasing melodies in there, if any. Your percussion sounds generic, and that metal clanging sound in it is incorrectly mastered. This isn't a very good remix, at all, and you badly need to work on finding some sounds that don't make people hurt inside to listen to. You also need to work on basic volume levels and panning for your samples/VSTs.

cathatmusic responds:

idk what a sample or a VST is.

edit: i know what a sample is :)

Your vocal samples need to be quieter, for the most part. The melodies are slightly repetitive, but they're in an ear-soothing sound. You could change up the baseline some more too, but this is still pretty good.

EnNinja responds:

I had a pretty hard time to make much diffirence on the melody so it bacame pretty repetetive, but thanks :)

Pretty good baselines in this one.. your percussion sounds a bit more generic at parts though. Melodies feel extremely repetitive.

NovaDrome responds:

Yea, it was something that I made in literally an hour, so don't expect much from me, this was a quick something to wrap up my music for the year. It was meant to sound a little like TheFatRat, and after the first drop, I know the melodies are repetitive because the build takes so long, and the same one in the drop. I hope it's still an enjoyable song, though!

The mastering isn't very good at a lot of parts in this, imo. Like when the base gets louder than the melody, while the melody just gets higher pitched, or near the beginning when the jingling is a bit loud. I respect your decision to party with friends and whatnot, but maybe not leave this for last-minute the next year you redo this?

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

I agree about the mastering, in general.
That said, by base, I assume you're talking about the cello which plays throughout the track?
There's only one place with an actual bass guitar, and that is indeed the part where the lack of mixing is most prominent :)

About different instruments being louder than the melody, it's a conscious decision. It's all about where you want the focus to be. Since there is a solo piano version already, where the melody is clear, I wanted to emphasise the new aspects.
The Jingling is pretty loud, I guess, but at least using my headphones, they don't cover up any of the other instruments, since there's only the piano and cello other than the sleigh bells.

As for the last part, I get where you're coming from. But I want to remind you that in Christmas times, it's probably wiser to spend time with family and friends, than put all of ones energy into a cool project which is only made for one's own sake anyway :p
If it were a commission, the quality would be more important. But since it's just for fun and tradition, I don't mind the result being less than perfect ^ ^
